Starting as a military event in 1909, the 4 Day Nijmegen March expanded annually and included civilians to the point they outnumbered the military 8:1 and to the extent that a limit on the maximum number of marchers (45,000) has been imposed at the event's full capacity.
The Nijmegen March is very popular worldwide and citizens of 60 countries attend to march individually each year with over a dozen militaries represented in marching teams.
The Four Days Marches are also known as the Walk of the World. For four days, thousands of participants walk 30, 40 or 50 kilometers each day. A few thousand military participants walk 40 kilometers a day in uniform with a ten kilo backpack. The goal of the event has always been to promote sport and exercise.
In past years ArmaSkin has been popular with Canadian military personnel and this year is no different. ArmaSkin will be used in the 4 x 40km march.
We wish all participants a blister free March, especially possible with the help of ArmaSkin.
