After a 2 month break where Lucy Barnard was letting the searing heat of the Atacama Desert ease off, she is now back walkling on her quest to be the first woman to trek the full length of the Americas.  That's 30,000km!

As of today she has reached Upsi Alto Ilo which is about 120km past the Peru / Chile border.

Clearly she is happy to be back on the trail albeit interested in having a shower after this latest leg.   Here are some recent log messages:

@ 4/20/2019 1:48:15 AM  Our journey in #Peru has begun! Wombat passed through customs without a hitch and i have 170 days to get myself to Ecuador! #GoLucyGo

@ 4/21/2019 8:51:15 AM   Pants split, and i had taken out the sewing kit i never used. In other news, turns out wombat likes watermelon. Lucky it was only 30c! #Peru

@ 4/23/2019 9:21:15 AM   I just want you all to know that today, on my rest day, I walked 5Km back through the #desert in search of lost my mat. Despite gusting wind, I FOUND IT!

@ 4/24/2019 9:51:45 AM  I had a really good day today which includes 3 free lunches and another abandoned house. We are both exhausted! 2 Big days coming up (Wombat permitting).

@ 4/25/2019 8:33:00 AM  We saw flamingoes in an oasis AND Wombat saw his first cows. Animal instincts are a real thing!
