Lucy Barnard, on her attempt to Walk the Americas has altered her immediate short term destination from Coyhaique Chile to Rio Mayo in Argentina.

The recent snowstorm conditions on the way up from El Chalten have no doubt impacted on this decision.  In a recent FB post Lucy said "A tortuous trail (for my feet) has had me rethink my route. I'm now heading for Rio Mayo, Argentina back on the Route 40.  I'm sad to not be in the mountains... But my feet aren't."

She is within a day of Rio Mayo having just crossed the state/province border from Santa Cruz to Chubut.

Since ArmaSkin are waiting for her at the previously arranged Coyhaique, we hope that Lucy is able to have these and her other supplies shipped across to Rio Mayo.

Pedregal = Foot Queen

On her 30,000km walking odyssey Lucy has now passed through the worst of the Atacama Desert, crossed into Peru and approaching the end of arid Atacama territory. Now about 2/3 the way through South America she is at a place called Pedregal. Loosely translated that would be Foot Queen! How apt! Traveling with dog buddy
