Renewal is going on!
During this pandemic year, most Melburnians were restricted to travelling within 5km of home and then only for food, medical or exercise reasons. So it was a great pleasure to be able to travel the 2000 km to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland once Victoria finally got a handle on the Covid challenge. As of writing Victoria has had over 50 days of zero cases of community transmission of Covid!
It was obviously great to catch up with new family additions! But on the second last day news of a New South Wales outbreak of Covid including one person who had recently travelled to the Sunshine Coast brought this vacation to a premature conclusion.
A return road trip over the next 2 days across the NSW hinterland (lead picture included), travelling through one of the previously fire ravaged areas made me pause to wonder at the natural renewal that takes place after times of disaster. Here are a few pictures that hopefully provide a sense of optimism for those of you currently still under the grey cloud of the pandemic.
Above, while some trees seem to have passed unscathed, or have shed the damage and look fresh, others even while struggling are nevertheless beginning to recover and the floor of the forest is just busting out!
And below, some trees have responded in their own way with a massive coating of new growth!
And if you'd like to hear some sounds from that bush area just click HERE
Here's hoping that a sense of renewal spreads high and wide over the coming year!
More than it hurts!
It was great to see that one of our ArmaSkin Ambassadors and super adventuress Dr Kate Baecher has been included in the new book, More Than It Hurts, edited by Wendy Bruere and Emily Small and published by Climb and Wine.
This is an anthology of femme adventure stories curated by the awesome women at Climb and Wine. The purpose of this book is the same as what the foundation Climb and Wine has always set out to do and that's inspire and encourage more women to get into climbing.
It features amazing short stories from some of Australia's top women mountaineers and rock climbers as well as from authors that anyone can identify with. It's about adventure, it's about crushing projects (or not), it has laughs and epic gripping tales alike.
The book can be purchased on-line at Mountain Equipment or Mont, and is stocked in Climbing Anchors,Climbfit, Mont, Canberra Indoor Rock Climbing and more.

For many Ambassadors the exposure that ArmaSkin provides via our own social media activities is a great benefit in helping them to grow their own audiences or to promote special events they are supporting.
This year we will be providing a free ArmaSkin branded t-shirt or singlet to each Ambassador.
