Throughout my entire training journey for the 2018 100 kilometre Kidney March, my main battle and goal was to address the large painful Blisters! I tried different shoes, foot glide creams and various styles of socks. I experimented with different combinations and still managed to get painful blisters within the first 10 KMS of my 20-30 KM training walks. Some of the training walks could not be completed at the target distance due to the pain and position of the blisters on my toes and feet. Knowing that I would not be walking long distances... the following day made it so that on some training walks, I could push through that pain and complete the target distance. I sought advice through various channels, online and in person including different specialized training stores all pointing at socks. Nothing seemed to help for the longer journeys. As the big weekend approached my concerned deepened as I would be walking 3 days of long distances equivalent to 100kms. I was introduced to ArmaSkin socks a few weeks prior to the March. I immediately noted a difference in the feel on my feet and toes. The painful blisters at 10-15 kms was a thing of the past and I was proudly able to successfully complete the 3 days journey. I was not able to address all the blisters however, I believe that ArmaSkin socks helped reduce the overall direct friction of the sock/shoe to the skin on my foot preventing major blisters from developing as the longer distances became a reality. I will be participating in this 3 day 100KM March again and will proudly be wearing the ArmaSkin socks throughout my training and march once again in 2019!
